Hey there kinky krew!
This past weekend I attended my first hair event, Return of the Curls Hair Show & Expo in Houston, TX! It was a lot to take in but I felt right at home surrounded by women who embrace their natural hair just like I do. There were countless booths filled with so many amazing products from black owned companies and gorgeous black women promoting them and answering questions. (We were even greeted with a bag filled with free Creme of Nature products! FULL SIZE) But the highlight of my day was definitely when I had the privilege of meeting Traycee Simmons. (I’m not going to lie I had a fan girl moment lol) I have been watching Traycee since the start of my relaxed hair journey back in 2013 and she was also one of the influencers who made me begin to transition. Being that she is one of my biggest inspirations I was really nervous but she was super sweet and took an interest in meeting me. It really meant a lot. I was also given a free full size sample of the Keravada Creme Brûlée Hair Butter she’s raved about on her channel and I cannot wait to try it. (Review coming soon!)
I still cannot believe I was able to met Miss keepitsimplesista herself and I will definitely be in attendance at next years Return of the Curls Expo!
