Hey there kinky krew!
So as I mentioned in my last post (if you haven’t read it, go check it out! ) I was going to review this product by Keravada that I received at the Return of the Curls event in Houston, Tx this Saturday. It’s basically a hair moisturizer/butter that is supposed to provide moisture for up to 3 days. So I know you guys are dying to know, does this product really live up to what it promises?
I immediately tried this moisturizer on my one day hair, because I don’t know about you guys, but my hair is EXTREMELY dry the day after it’s been washed, so I thought this would be the perfect canvas to really put this product to the test and see if it could keep my thick, coarse hair moisturized for 3 days. So I sectioned my hair and applied about a quarter size amount to all sections. Before I get into how it made my hair feel, I just want to discuss the heavenly aroma I witnessed as I slathered this product through my hair. It smelled so good yall lol. Which I’m not going to lie, it really surprised me! Usually, the best products for your hair, don’t have that great of a smell. (The first ingredients are Spring Water, Coconut Oil, Raw African Shea Butter, Vegetable Glycerin)…fragrance is the very last ingredient yet it still smells amazing! (I’m a sucker for great products that smell good lol) As I was raking it through each section I felt my hair drink it right up like it was thirsty for that moisture lol. (This product would be wonderful for you ladies with low porosity hair) It went from looking ashy and feeling very dry to shiny, soft and manageable.
The next morning as I was getting ready for work I noticed I didn’t need my normal moisturizing leave in- my hair still felt great. So I did my normal bun for work, all I did was pass some coconut oil through my hair as I was styling and I was out the door. This went on for about 4 more days! I couldn’t believe I was able to go over the 3 days without having to reapply any leave-in conditioners to my hair. Which is awesome because with my coarse 4b/4c texture I love the stretch I get as the days pass, so the fact that I’m not having to constantly re-wet my hair with watery based products really works for me personally. I give this product a 10 out of 10 and this is definitely going to be a staple in my regimen.
How to Use: Apply to damp or dry hair after using KeraVada Caramel Souffle Leave-in Conditioner. Place a small amount of cream onto fingers. Gently rake through sectioned hair. Style as usual.
