I recently tried the KeraCare Pre-Poo and I don’t know if I will ever spend my time doing DIY Pre-poo’s again! This Pre-Shampoo treatment by KeraCare is by far one of the best products I have tried this year and will be a staple in my regimen from now on! I suffer from extreme tangling at my roots, and this product relieved that with just one application and I was shocked. Below I will show step by step how I used this pre-poo in my wash day routine.
Slip Factor | Consistency
As you can see, the product is super thick and “pudding like” giving your curls extreme moisture and slip. The texture of this pre-poo made it very easy for me to get through my very tangled kinky hair. As soon as I applied this pre-poo to my hair it literally melted the tangles away leaving me with little to no shedding. It allowed me to easily break down my previous style – which would be amazing if you are currently protective styling with sew-ins, braids or twists.
Application process
After distributing the Pre-Poo, for a little added stimulation, I did go in with a mixture of JBCO, Avocado and Peppermint oil to my scalp. After applying my pre-poo and oiling my scalp, I covered my hair with a plastic bag and I let this sit on overnight in order for it to penetrate into my strands.
Overnight Reveal
After sleeping in the pre-poo, I woke up to swollen hydrated twists that were ready for an in shower detangle. This pre-poo is extremely rich in moisturizing ingredients, such as Aloe Vera Leaf Juice, Shea and Mango Butter!
Results
The overnight pre-poo treatment made my in-shower detangle so painless and easy – I also noticed my kinks were pillow soft, hydrated and shiny even after washing it out. This is my hair in 3 sections going straight back to air dry.

This product will definitely be added to my regimen and I cannot wait to try out the full Thermal Line when I blow out my hair in a couple weeks!
