Hey there kinky krew!
My hair has been flourishing nonstop all year and I cannot believe the length I have achieved and retained. 2016 was a year of gaining thickness and health, and 2017 I finally started seeing the length I’ve always wanted. So I wanted to write out my goals so I can stay on track and have a list to reference at the end of this year!
- Learn How to Braid/Flat twist
I’m not the only black girl who can’t braid, right? I’ve always wanted to be the girl who could throw flat twists or plats in her hair for a week and take them down the next week for a cute 2 in 1 style, but I cannot braid or flat twist to save my life! With my hair getting longer it’s almost impossible for me to do mini twists as often. So this year I want to take the time to learn to do these two styles.
- Clarify My Curls More
If you’ve been a part of the kinky krew for the past year, you’d know I’m a die-hard cowasher and I live for a good cleansing conditioner. I know this isn’t everyone’s forte, but it’s worked for me this far and I don’t plan on cutting them out now – BUT with that being said, I would like to get better with actually cleansing my hair with clarifiers to strip my hair of all the product. So this year I want to make it a point to clarify my hair more often to ensure my scalp is being properly cleansed.
- Deep Condition Longer with Heat
I got a rolling hair dryer for Christmas and I want to make it a habit to set aside time to deep condition with heat more than I currently do. I’ve been doing way too many in shower quick deep conditions and deep conditioning is one of the most crucial steps to achieving and maintaining healthy hair.
- Reach Mid-Back Length
And last but not least, I hope to reach Mid-Back Length by the end of 2018. I was never really obsessed with length when I started this journey, but now that I see that my hair can grow I’m eager to see how long it can get! I’m currently sitting at bra strap length and I think if I continue with my regimen I can achieve this one by the end of the year.
Feel free to take on some of my goals and leave some of your own down in the comments. Cheers to 2018 and I can’t wait to see what’s in store for us this year!
Close to mid back length as possible by the end of the year..HEALTH OVER LENGTH..we can do lol👊💪😘💁👌
